Farewell, Summer!!!

Oh summer!! We miss you already!! Here is a recap of our last few weeks of summer!

Our Relief Society had a "gourmet dinner box" picnic and then hiked up to Palisade Falls!

Absolutely breathtaking!!

This was our last day in the swimming pool!

Ashton loves it!!

Ashton and I went on a morning stroll down Main Street!

My anniversary present from Nelson!! He told me about the idea and I picked out the font, but then my sneaky husby said that he wasn't going to have time to do it. This is what he brought home from school on our anniversary!

I L-O-V-E it!!

Gorgeous.

My candy bar message to Nelson for our anniversary!

Ashton looks very sweet and innocent, but really he is just dying to rip the candy off!! :)

We are loving the chair Nelson designed and built...I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

Cheeeese!!!

I love going shopping with this handsome guy!!

President Eyring challenged us to do have a "Day of Service" two conferences ago, and this was our ward's project! Everyone shoveled this entire dirt pile into wheelbarrows, pushed them up the hill, and planted new trees and plants!

My handsome husby working hard!!

The cutest part was all the kids helping out!!

Hard workers weeding and planting!

Haha! Too cute!!

Ashton aced his two-year-old check-up and was obsessed with this whale!

He tried to ride it like a horse! :)

This is our 2-year-old on his actual birthday, August 24!!! We decided to let him have the entire day be filled with activities he loves!

We took him to Splash Park and discovered that he has become much more cautious with age! He used to be fearless, but was very hesitant to run through the water this time!

He walked around the perimeter with Daddy several times, not wanting to get wet!

We did convince him to run through the water a couple of times! :)

There is a little park right behind Splash Park where Ashton had tons of fun!

Sliding!!

Cutest boy swinging!!

We took him to his favorite restaurant for dinner: IHOP!! He can eat a whole meal of pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage all by himself!

No birthday is complete without a cake!

Yummy!!

Happy 2nd birthday little guy!!!

I had to snap a "last first day of school" picture of Nelson!!

Yippeeeee!!! Nelson will graduate with his Masters in Architecture in December!! I am so so proud of him!

We really can't complain about the weather because we have had such a mild fall so far!

Daddy and Ashton love playing together!!

We took Ashton in to get some immunizations and a flu shot and he took them like a champ (as usual)!! I am not a huge fan of suckers and Ashton has never had one before. The nurse shoved one in his mouth right after his pokes and he was so pleasantly surprised he didn't cry at all!! He kept trying to bite the sucker instead of sucking on it. It was pretty cute!! We took him to the store and got him one of his favorite treats: strawberry milk!!

Ashton attended his friend Olivia's birthday party and had SO much fun!! It is amazing to see how much he loves his little friends!

I just love watching my boys play together!! Nelson is the best daddy to our little guy and is always willing to come along on library trips and park outings when he isn't completely overwhelmed by homework.

Speaking of Nelson's hardworking skills, check this baby out! He and his group designed and built this for Cheever Hall, where all the architecture classes are. It is the first thing you see as you walk in!

It is a bench and a display case so students can show off their projects! Pretty neat concept!

Our silly little boy modeling some of Mommy's necklaces!!
Although we are sad to wish summer a fond farewell, we are also so excited about autumn and winter!! Who doesn't love fall clothes, pumpkin scented candles, and cooking soups and hot chocolate?? We are also anticipating the birth of our little boy, Nelson graduating with his Masters in Architecture and Christmas too!! :) What a great life!!

First off, your Ashton is stinkin' adorable! He is growing up so fast!
Second, way to go Nelson! The chair and display that he did are AWESOME! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the shelf with your name! He's pretty talented!
And YES we are also so excited for fall! And just think, the sooner fall and winter roll around, the sooner you get to meet this next cute boy of yours! :)
Oh, and a HUGE YAY for Nelson and Garrett being done with their MASTER'S degrees in December! :)
